    Deborah Bade Horn, DO, MPH, MFOMA

    Medical Director, Clinical Asstistant Professor

    Deborah Bade Horn, DO, MPH, MFOMA, is the medical director for the Center for Obesity Medicine and Metabolic Performance, clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School, and program director for the UT COMMP Fellowship in Clinical Obesity Medicine and Metabolism. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and currently serves as the president of the Obesity Medicine Association. She regularly presents in a variety of educational formats and venues about physical activity, obesity, and weight-related comorbidities. Dr Horn received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, and holds two master’s degrees–one in exercise physiology, and another in public health and physical activity.

    Nadia B. Pietrzykowska, MD, FACP

    President and Medical Director

    Nadia B. Pietrzykowska, MD, FACP, is a board-certified obesity medicine specialist and physician nutrition specialist. She currently practices in Ewing, New Jersey, and is the president and medical director of “Weight & Life MD”. Dr Pietrzykowska graduated from Warsaw Medical School in Poland. After moving to the United States, she was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. She completed an internal medicine residency at Capital Health in Trenton, New Jersey, and completed a fellowship in obesity medicine and nutrition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr Pietrzykowska is actively involved with the Obesity Action Coalition as a member of their education committee and regularly writes for their magazine.

    Sean Hashmi, MD, MS, FASN

    Assistant Area Medical Director

    Sean Hashmi, MD, MS, FASN, is the assistant area medical director at Kaiser Permanente, Woodland Hills in California, as well as the Southern California regional lead for Adult Weight Management. He currently serves as the secretary/treasurer of the Clinical Management of Obesity Section of The Obesity Society. Dr Hashmi graduated from the University of California, San Diego Medical School, and completed his residency in internal medicine at UCLA-Olive View Medical Center followed by a fellowship in nephrology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has earned several teaching awards, and routinely mentors the Woodland Hills Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr Hashmi is an author of several academic presentations focusing in the nutrition, obesity, and kidney disease.
